Foundation Officers

John Sandwell

President

John is a retired Broadcast Executive. He and his wife, Judy, live in Evansville, Indiana. They have four children and seven grandchildren.

John earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1972 from Fort Hays Kansas State University. He joined Zeta Chapter of Phi Sigma Epsilon in 1969 and held numerous chapter positions as an undergraduate. Upon graduation he was appointed to the National Volunteer Staff as a Chapter Consultant ’72-’73. He also served as Regional Director ’73-’74, National Vice-President ‘74-’78, National President, ’78-’84, Advisory Councilor of Phi Sigma Epsilon ’84-’88, Advisory Councilor of Phi Sigma Phi ’88-present, Acting National President ’04, Phoenix 7 Foundation Trustee ’00-present, President Phoenix 7 foundation ’06-present. He is also a part of the Phi Sigma Phi Hall of Fame.

Robert Manikowski

Vice-President

Robert completed his Bachelor of Science in 2008 from Central Michigan University. He was an active member of the Xi chapter from 2006 through 2009. After graduating with a focus on Computer Science Robert started to attend University of Michigan-Dearborn. In 2011 he graduated with a Masters of Engineering Management.

In Fall of 2013 Robert was asked to join the Phoenix 7 Foundation as a trustee.

Robert currently lives in his hometown of Canton, Michigan. He currently works for a laboratory company writing software.

Harry Parker

Treasurer

Harry currently serves on the Phoenix Seven Foundation Board of Trustees as its Treasurer. He enjoys being a volunteer for the Foundation and raising monies for the Dean Rockwell Scholarship Award. He also contributes to the Rockwell Award every year and his current level of giving is the “Apex” level which he achieved in 2013.

As an undergrad at Hillsdale College in Michigan, he joined Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity in 1971 and held a number of leadership positions for the fraternity. After graduating in 1975, he served as a volunteer staff member and officer for Phi Sigma Epsilon and in 1985 served as Phi Sigma Phi’s first National President. He has been a volunteer serving continuously since 1975 in a number of leadership roles for both the Phoenix Seven Foundation and Phi Sigma Phi Fraternity. He is also a part of the Phi Sigma Phi Hall of Fame.

He currently resides in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida with his wife Lois. He manages Parker Property Rentals which are local long term rental condominiums.

David Prueher

David was initiated into Phi Sigma Epsilon, Phi Beta Chapter November 6, 1977. He graduated in 1982 with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. David currently resides in Appleton, WI and lives with his wife Lynn and 3 cats.

Biographical Information for Master Chief Petty Officer Mark P. Helling, USNR, Ret.

Graduate of Irondale Senior High School in New Brighton Minnesota, 1972. Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) from University of Wisconsin-River Falls, 1976 and Master of Science Degree (MS) from Emporia State University of Kansas, 1977. Graduate of United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island, Class NRC-08, 2005.

Family information includes marriage of 31 years to the former Kate L. Johnson of Golden Valley, Minnesota with three children; Erik, Sean and Claire and black lab Heidi. Residence is in rural Kinnickinnic Township, Wisconsin.

Shawn Head

Trustee

Shawn Head was an Active Member of the Xi Chapter at Central Michigan University from 2000 to 2005. While an Active Member, he served two terms as the Chapter President.

Shawn has served on the National Staff of Phi Sigma Phi National Fraternity since 2005. As a member of the National Staff, Shawn has previously served as the Chapter Consultant for the Lambda Chapter, Regional Director of Michigan and Ohio, National Vice President and National President. In 2012, Shawn was appointed to the Advisory Council. Shawn Head also currently serves as the National Director of Risk Management.

Shawn lives with his wife and young daughter in Livonia, Michigan. In addition to serving on the National Staff, Shawn is also a practicing attorney with an office in Livonia, Michigan. His legal practice primarily focuses on the areas of civil litigation and criminal defense.
